I would like to even question the highest tele-density claim. As cost of a new mobile connection is 100Rs on average, there are many people holding multiple SIMs. I think the real tele-density is atleast 15% less than these claims.

PTA holds the credit of so many SIM cards roaming on streets, makets and shops etc. There should have been a check and balance and strict documentation should have been implemented in order to ensure proper usage of these mobile connections.

As far as Quality of Service (QoS) is concerned, it is being improved day by day. I am a Telenor subscriber and very happy with their service. As I don’t live in a rural area, so I don’t know about their QoS there. Broadband QoS is not so good and there are downtimes which teases me a lot.

Bilal you are 100% right, and there are many other things LIKE DSL on Fiber Numbers are only available with PTCL and they dont want to ….. PTA said them to allow other companies but MONOLOPY you know…

IPTV will be a good step towards new trends and technology, and why not to use media when its free…

Yes, quality of service is very low especially in rural areas. Last month, I was in a rural area of Jhang (Punjab) and many of my calls got disconnected just because of low QoS. Now where should I go to claim my losses?

To my knowledge, even Etisalat itself has not launched this IPTV over copper service in UAE. Isn’t this also a monopolistic step to allow PTCL to come up with this service? Other service providers lack this copper infrastructure but have invested billions in getting licenses and other operations.

I think this is going to cause death of many telcos in Pakistan.

It is strange to see such a positive viewpoint about PTCL. I think maybe this is because of their new managers from Etisalat that they are improving now.

PTCL has to improve otherwise private companies will take away all its customers. I have also observed that PTCL has improved its complaint service as well. They solved our phone complaint the same day I made it.
